As the battle for Beryl's Hope intensified, the Admech was forced to request reinforcements from from the Imperium. Additional ships were dispatched an integrated into the fleet just in time for another wave of Ork gunships to descend upon the planet.
Having learned from their previous engagement, Admech forces attempted to surround the Ork Fleets rather than tackle them head on, to moderate success.
The battle was joined in the debris infested outer regions, where Imperial commanders hoped the mass of asteroids would limit Ork maneuvering options, or perhaps even destroy those ships foolish enough to venture into them.
The opening phase of the engagement had mixed results, imperial Nova Cannons inflicted moderate damage on the Ork fleets as they closed, but the cruiser Hyper Aggressive Prayer was able to draw off the bulk of the Ork escorts. Their battle would be fierce, but ultimately fruitful as entire squadrons were burned in a massive firestorm over the planet
In the center, two ork Kroozers, salvaged from the many wrecks in orbit over the planet, attempted to Ram the Armageddon class cruiser Mailed Fist, and were destroyed for their efforts. Alas, the ship was soon crippled by the ork Battleship, The Wizdom of Zog, and forced to flee the field.
The remaining Imperial cruisers, the Purest of Motives Jr and the Blank Check used the opportunity to speed past the Wisdom to assist the Hyper Aggressive Prayer with the remaining Ork gunships. Though forced to disengage, no Imperial vessels were fully destroyed during the battle, and the Incursion was forced to withdraw before making planetfall.
