Rather than add to other threads I thought we could centralise our questions and answers here.
I'll start us off:
If we roll for a refit that the ship cannot benefit from will we be able to re-roll that refit (or some other method) to prevent us from wasting the Appeal roll? Mainly thinking if we were to get Turbo-weapons on a ship with only weapons that have a 30cm range or similar. I'm sure there are plenty of combinations that just don't do anything in the various fleet lists.

Yes, if you land on a refit which either does nothing, or cannot apply, to your ship (such as the ordnance refit on a ship without ordnance, or, say, Targeting matrix on a ship with no weapons that use the gunnery table) Then you would re-roll the refit entirely, as in first rolling for which chart and then which refit.
Excellent idea with the Q&A thread by the way

How many points for a Tau fleet? I've only found points costs for IN, Chaos, Eldar, and Orks so far. Also, are we able to play a fleet that another player has already chosen?

For a Tau fleet, I would honestly leave that up to you, what you'd prefer. If you wish to be more low key, go for the Raider size of 1500, but if you wish to be more involved with the land-grabbing (There is no reason these couldnt change mid campaign, with say a bunch of Orks deciding that they are to good for looting and decides to invade something) you write up the full 2000.
And of course you are more then welcome to play a fleet/faction that another player has picked up, the more the merrier!

What campaign map are we using?

We shall be using a campaign map of ZJ's devising. Altho for the sake of reasonableness I would ask for some patience in the matter, as the number of players is growing and it probably changes to account for such.

About the campaign map. Once I have the final player count I can generate the number of planets and systems(exact method to follow when its sorted). With those numbers its a simple thing to then just make a layout thats fair to all and allows movement and freedom for players so they can fight/take territory from who/what ever they want.
Hope that is clear enough elbrak

Since the appeal charts have been removed for this campaign, does that mean there are no ship refits?

No, Refits and Reinforcements are different from the appeal charts, you are still more then free to take your chances at those...And dont forget that you have the option of asking for some very crazy shit in the "other" (Ie, things you just made up) category as long as you inform me and/or ZJ about it.

Was wondering how we gain access to the specialist torpedoes? Their rules are listed in the Revised rulebook, but not how you can get hold of them*. (I think they were a refit appeal originally if that helps at all.) *I am certainly not wanting to fit a Void Stalker with Vortex Torpedoes. Nope not at all

I cannot say for certain or guarantee, but the easiest way would be to ask for them as a 4+ appeal...The slightly less easier way would be some kind of custom scenario in which everyone tries to take and hold/loot some kind of weapon stash/vault thingamagig. That'd be cool. If it was a thing.
